Here is a little space to record what I ate and when. Mostly these will be good memories or places I frequent, rather than true reviews.
Amsterdam
Scandanavian Embassy: obsessed with their cinnamon and cardamom buns. Heaven on earth after a walk in Sarphatipark, if you can find a space to sit. Equally worth popping in and getting a pastry to go. Inundated with thirty-something y/o couples with babies on Saturday mornings which is really funny, indicator species for the neighbourhood.Tee Kee: the only good boba in the city centre, don't even talk to me about Soo Tea. They have me in the palm of their hand with the strawberry matcha. Their fruit teas also actually use fruit which means you also get a liddol snack.. v good.Glouglou: I just have so many nice memories in this winebar. Small, a little dark despite big windows, slightly rickety chairs, overpriced small plates, kind of feels like someone's front room, perfect bar to me. Also the gelato place across the street from it is so good, and the tram home is right around the corner. How can I not love it?A van Wees Good memories here!! When I first moved to Amsterdam I ate here with my mom, and it was honestly sooo good. Got an unreal beef stew and sitting in the patio out of the rain was sooo deeply cozy.Cafe de Eberling Sat down here with Mark when I was feeling sick, and then was so comfy we stayed there until 12pm, out on their patio which thankfully has heaters too. They give nougat with their hot drinks (about 70% of the time) which is the actual best part.Breadwinner bagels!! Everything bagel is too salty to eat plain or with just cream cheese, but still, great bagels.Dr. Falafel you can get a half pita with falafel for cheap and it's so tastyEffendy actual go-to cheap lunch, tasty tasty lahmacunToastable any place that has lunch under a tenner I love.
Dublin
Bambino: i have beef w the owners for closing Token to open up another pizza joint but yknow what? I can't even blame them. Pizza is easy to overhype but I went in wanting to be a hater and just couldn't. Actually not overrated somehow.Caribou: gateway to Drury street, owners of this bar also have my loyalty unforch. They closed caribou Galway but opened up its evolution in Dublin just for me.The Dwarf Jar/Music Cafe: ngl now that parliament street is getting pedestrianised I fear for my little favourite cafe in Dublin. It was difficult enough to get a seat anyway!! But oh well, if it's full then I never have to worry about it shutting down. So many teas, and a fabulous people-watching windowKopitiam place I want to go every time I'm back home. They have an absolutely unreal char kuay teow and the rendang is genuinely the best I've ever had.
