I have far too many decks for someone with so little ability to commit to using them with any regularity. But here they all are! The fool is a card that is very near and dear and special to me, and so often is the make-or-break card when I'm deciding if I want a deck.
The Wild Unknown by Kim Krans

My first deck!! I love the art in this, though would I recommend it for a first deck? Not particularly! It's a little difficult to learn. Either way, I have a soft spot for it, despite the fact it does not have a soft spot for me! Regularly calls me out and does not pull its punches.
Here are some of my favourites! I love the fool card, a baby bird on a branch, one day to take flight.
The vibrant colours and high contrast black and white linework is so appealing to me. I love the art. Cards like Death are so stark, the scratchy textures are so evocative.
The Golden Thread by Labrynthos
This is actually my most used deck. My bestie!! The deck I will throw around in my bag. I got the first edition which didn't have the black edging, and so I sharpie'd it black myself and honestly I think having to DIY it a little endeared it to me so much.

I love the gold foiling, the simple illustration style. The depictions are also slightly unserious?? The skeleton face from the judgement card became a discord emoji in my friend's server for a while??

Overall I just think this is a great deck. It lends itself to easy reading and interpretations, the illustration is striking and somehow manages to make the symbolism clear without packing it so full of detail and that you need the handbook at all times.
And, there is a companion app, which I wouldnt have normally said is a plus for a deck, but it's kind of cute actually!Welp, nevermind, they've ended support for it, after years!!
The Circo Tarot
Ahh this was an impulse purchase and I never pick it up...

I do like the art! But I don't love it unfortunately. Also there's a few things that work against it. For one, it arrived with a HUGE bow in the cards, which makes them awkward to handle. I've managed to straighten them out but it seems they have a shape memory and keep curling back between uses. They also have a super glossy texture, which looks beautiful but makes them kind of sticky and annoying to shuffle.
I keep this deck around but alas, have probably done like three readings with it. Honestly if anyone wants it lemme know, it deserves a loving home!
Tarot Acacia by Misun Kim
This is a major-only deck and I absolutely ADORE it. The art is surreal, slightly unhinged.

⠀⠀I love that the Fool is represented as a blindfolded mad man with an axe. Incredible!! A fantastic reading beyond the usual more hopeful depiction. Given it's majors only, I rarely use it, but I love just looking at it. The illustrations are rich and detailed, worth pouring over and colours are so beautiful. I have no idea what's going on in so many of these illustrations, but it feels like each is a window into a strange and unknown world, full of odd creatures. Beautiful! Apparently there was another kickstarter some time later for the minor arcana of this deck and I never knew!! Would love to get my hands on it, but alas.
Sigil Deck by cracked amethyst
This was a limited edition deck by cracked amethyst, an oracle deck based on the major arcana. Each illustration is a sigil created from a phrase that represents each major card.

I adore sigils, I think that a little symbol made from a single phrase is so neat and efficient and full of secret meaning that only the creator knows is just, chef's kiss.
The simple linework really adds to why I like these so much. The cards are starting to yellow which is a little sad tho! Not sure how to stop that, they've been in a cloth bag the whole time so I suppose this is just what age does to paper.
Decks I want!!!
Knowing I should not buy them doesn't stop me from wanting!!!
- Cosmic Slumber Tarot
- White Numen
- Magickal Botanical Oracle
- Fyodor Pavlov Tarot I want this one sooo bad, its so beautiful. It's so soft and elegant I'm obsessed.
- Woodland Wardens Oracle Deck
- Herbal Astrology Pocket Oracle
- Dishonored Tarot - YES from the video game. Tbh, the hypothetical Dishonored deck that only exists in my mind is what I truly want. Only the majors are illustrated in this one, with the minors just being pip cards. This game's atmosphere and aesthetic suit so tarot well that I desperately wish someone would make a true deck. This one was just made to be included in a collector's edition of the game, so I understand why they didn't commit to the behemoth project but if they had.. then no amount of money could keep me from this deck.
- Tempest tarot ... ocean and ship theme, so obviously I want it. The judgement card is walking the plank you guys.
